Skyros

Skyros is the southernmost island of the Northern Sporades and is located east of Evia.

It is about 24 miles from Kymi of Evia, from where the ferry boat Achilles operates daily.

It is the largest island of the Northern Sporades, and its area reaches 210 square kilometers.

The island is characterized by intense contrasts, has hills with pine trees, rocky mountain landscapes, idyllic secluded beaches, beautiful coves, extensive beaches, sea caves, the Natura area in the southern part, composing a natural and full of variations relief.

With a long history, Skyros has always been a place that preserved its tradition and authenticity.

Visitors to the island will admire the local architecture, the elaborate wood carvings, the Byzantine thematic ceramics.

In the all-white, glued next to each other houses of Chora, you will be impressed with their special decoration.

It is also very famous for the Skyrian horse, which is not found anywhere else in the world and which is depicted on the Front of the Parthenon.
